WHAT YEAR IS IT?!

Hi there,
It's been a while :)

A couple of months have passed and bits and pieces of life have happened and I've lost track of time and not written. It's scary when you lose track of time. I was thinking today, as I sat at a picnic table, enjoying the company of friends, as we celebrated a friend of ours graduating, that time has gone by so quickly! It's winter time and that usually entails old friends coming into town for Christmas break and getting together to catch up a reminisce about old times. It's funny because we always bring up the same old stories, but laugh just as hard had we been telling it for the first time. No one ever really complains that the story has been told before, because it's just good to laugh and remember all those things.

With some of my friends I've known them for almost 8 years, and it still feels like just yesterday we were in high school, sitting in class, thinking that we had the whole world figured out and that we were on top of the game. I try to remember what it felt like, to have little to no responsibility, all the time in the world to do what we wanted. I know I took it for granted, not really understanding what it meant to have the freedom I did. And the sacrifice my parents made to send me to a private school where I could get an excellent, personal education. A place where the Word of God was taught everyday, not only by curriculum but by the teachers living it out.

As 2012 comes to a close I think about the friends made, friends lost, friends found again. It's crazy to think of how I viewed the world a year ago and how it's vastly changed since then. The Lord has brought me through some of the deepest valleys and highest hills of my life this year. At least, the deepest and highest so far. It's been a good stretch, caused me to mature a bit and to understand what it means to truly have a personal relationship with the Lord. I hope I keep on learning. I never want to get to a point where I think I'm the closest I'll ever be to the Lord.

I guess I'm writing this post just to say that you never know where you'll be this time next year, but it's fun to look back on where God has taken you. That's why I write in here, really. I like to look back and sometimes laugh at myself for my own silly thoughts, or to see how things changed.

2012, you have been an interesting year for me.

Love Always,
Christina

P.S.
I'm gonna start writing in here more ;)
